What the PFR-3004 Is
Petsafe's PRF-3004 is a system that consists of an in-ground radio fence of 500 feet of wire that you can use to establish containment boundaries for your dog. Our in-ground radio fence makes dog training very easy and practical. Not only the PRF-3004 comes with a nylon collar strap, but it can be expanded if you have a large property or area
The jewel of our PRF-3004 is the super-light, water proof receiver unit that is incoporated to an adjustable collar. In addition, it is very easy to use and set within minutes, and there are even tips that you can find online in case of trouble. It also proves handy whenever the owners are confronted with minor problems with respect to installation, working and set up. If you wish, you can even buy the PUL-275 collar, which is sold separately and is completely compatible with the PRF-3004 system.
The system needs an RFA-67 battery pack, and it includes a test indicator that will let you know when there is a problem in any troubleshooting process. The long and short contact points are interchangeable and the collar that comes with the PRF-3004 in ground fence is battery operated and is compatible with the other containment systems from Petsafe which in turn makes PRF-3004 more versatile.

Tips on Training Pets with PRF-3004 Fencing System
Take the time to carefully design your perimeter, and once your wire is laid out and ready to use, set out the flags around the perimeter. The flags that come with the system are installed so your dog has a visual cue of where the bondaries are. Equip your dog with a leash and take him to a small tour close to the perimeter so it can feel it, and make sure to offer him a treat whenever your pet comes back after you call him right before he crosses the boundaries.
Only after this, you can turn on the invisible fence, and you can bring your dog close to the perimeter and pull it back whenever you hear the warning tone. That way, you'll be teaching your dog to pull back by itself whenever it hears the warning tone.
