How to Repair a Body on a side door of a Van?
My van door has a 3" split in the lower Right Hand corner. I tried Bondo, but when you close the door it shifts and cracks the bondo. Is there a better way to reinforce this area? (Then be able to paint it too?)
The best bet is the replace the door if you don't have the know-how or tools to get the repair done right. The repair manuals that I have suggest this same thing. Go to one of the wrecking yards to find a door for your van. As for Bondo; it's really meant for fixing small irregularities on otherwise intact sheet metal and is no substitute for a proper repair. This means using a mig welder to replace sheet metal and dollying out big dents and creases. Hope this helps.
